Our very own Trip, Paul and Ben had a grand time in the “Biggest Little City in the World,” where they travelled for the 90th annual Western Fairs Association Convention and Trade Show! The theme of this year’s convention was “Energize,” and in that spirit, we had the chance to connect with some of our fair partners, learn about the latest trends in the world of fairs and even do some bowling!
In Reno, we were able to spend time with many of our terrific fair partners, including the Sonoma County Fair, the Nevada County Fair, Antelope Valley Fair and Napa County Fair. We even snapped this picture of Tawny and Katie from the Sonoma County Fair looking stylish in their Etix European football scarves!
This year, we also had the opportunity to lead two roundtable discussions on online ticketing and managing mobile. We got to exchange ideas with some of the nation’s leading fairs and couldn’t wait to share some takeaways with you:
- 74% of young adults own a smartphone and 25% of purchases taking place on mobile—it’s increasingly important to have a mobile strategy.
- A mobile strategy should include a mobile-optimized site and, most importantly, a mobile-optimized purchase process.
- Other mobile strategies can include SMS marketing, QR codes, location-based marketing and more.
